So yeah…I just got finished viewing a lot of things today, staring at a lot of screens, monitors, traffic lights, textbooks, car headlights and this just all got me thinking into one lump sum rant. With all the information out there today, on what’s availible to us at our keyboards, I’m pretty fearful as to how the upcoming generations will process all of this. Are we really focusing our resources (and not just trees n water n sh*t) our time, money, effort, advertisement, bussiness descions on the right aspects of human life for the public eye, nay for our children to see? I was just on my way to watch 21 jump street with my girlfriend, and she pointed out a vitamin water ad with a completely topless asian model in hollister photoshop with a thin word line covered her breasts with some bullsh*t saying, a picture of vitamin water zero, and their silly hashtag and like us on facebook icon. This was on a lighted bustop display right outside A LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL FIELD! I’m no conservative, or fascist, or cynical troll or anything, but the addition of all these borderline vulgar behaviors will continue to lower our society’s level of discretion until its reduced to vulgar paste. With so much information readily availible to us, why do we continue to check facebook, tumblr, 9gag, torrents, and other time wasters? I love it all as much as the next, but I just sat there in my girlfriend’s car thinking to myself….why? Why am I watching this hilarious movie with an anorexic jonah hill getting bagged on my every character in that movie? Why am I silently scrolling through tumblr for hours in the hopes of an LOL moment after hours of wading through Kony 2012 posts or project x GIFS? Why am I still refreshing facebook while the world is waiting for me? These all exist as a temporary escape, to make us feel better for that brief amount of time that jonah hill is bagged on, or any other recent sitcom character that is fitted to be a loser TO MAKE US FEEL BETTER ABOUT OURSELVES. Were hooked, and you know what this sounds like? A drug addiction, alcoholism, w.e you wanna put it in terms of. These are stress relievers minus the kidney or liver damage. Hookah as recreation, alcohol as recreation, but is frowned upon as soon as someone mentions “It helps me cope with my stress” On a sidenote, You know what I used to see on my block not too long ago? A nice 3rd party video store, a wholesome frozen yogurt shop (not that trendy menchies bullshit either) and maybe 3 subway restaurants in my zipcode. Now all I see are menchies run by high school kids from well off families with too much spare time, a subway every two streetlights, hookah stops, and netflix…where i now waste most of my college days. A functioning country cannot be forged out of fast food chains, netflix, hookah , hollywood films, niki minaj and lawyers funding the ranks. I just feel like I’m in this saturation of technology, media vulgarity, schooling, relationships, and mediocre music that it just makes me want to tune out„, you know? Just be stoic, monotone, uncaring about most things cause if I decide to give a shit about all these things im faced with everyday, A) I’ll either and lose whatever little motivation I have to get out of bed B) Really turn into a cynical asshole as I take on the mental burden of the overwhelming world outside of my humdrum life or C) Donate my minimum wage paycheck to every charity that gets over 10000+ hits on tumblr/fb/youtube cause they make me feel so shitty for not giving a shit.

Like my life’s pretty good…most of our lives are pretty good, were in America after all. You know? I don’t got much of an agenda in writing all this and I’m sure a lot of people are thinking these same exact ideas, thoughts, fears, doubts. And if not…then I guess I’m already that cynical asshole that got lost in this sea of nonsense culture we call the world.
